Iphone 4S asking for Zipcode and Security number to activate - GSM-Forum

Hello Guys,

I have an iphone 4S At&T (US) and i restored it to 5.1, now it is asking for zipcode and Social Security number to activate. I am not in the UK and I brought this phone of ****, I have no clue on how to activate this phone.
I have the original simcard which came with the phone but it dosent work.
I also tried using various other simcard (At&T, Virgin, Tmobile) but no luck.

Can someone please help me as it is urgent.

Hi,
I am in the UK and got a phone of the **** from UK, the original sim was there in the phone and the phone did work for some days but then suddenly on Monday it started asking for activation.

The 1st image is what I get on Itunes and the 2nd image is what it says when I try to activate the phone using Wifi or Cellular.

I dont know why but somehow an iphone i was trying to fix cydia on has rebooted and stuck on apple screen. maybe its because i messed with the stash file...

anyways am downloading the ios 5.1 for iphone 4s and will update you on what screen i have as activation. its locked to Telus Canada so dont know if gevey will work either.

Can baseband be preserved (i doubt it...but just asking anyways)

I just restored an iphone locked to Telus Canada. 5.1
Activated with original sim. No problem whatsoever. No zip code or social security required.

Bypass Iphone 4 - 4S ios 5.0.1 - 5.1 Activation Screen (exclusive) - YouTube

For bypassing activation. I dont think you can activate but it helps to just see the settings of the phone. Worked for me

I try ur solution its work for me but temporary like this tethered.!
when i press power button display light off again i press power display light on then same there is appear activation.
I want to fixed it permanent.
But how?
You can suggest me?

Thats great. in the end you need original sim or gevey AIO. either way there is no other method other than this for a non-jailbroken fone. For 5.0.1 its easy you just use the method is video, check carrier, install SAM and then activate.

My phone is already factory unlock no need to SAM.
Just need into Carrier activation of AT&T.

Also did you try and restore to ios 5.1

Try fresh install. Download firmware from link DOWNLOAD 5.1 iPhone THREAD

1- Download the IPSW original
2- then simply put phone in DFU mode.
3- Connect to itunes.
4- SHIFT + restore
5- Activate with ANY sim as long your iphone is factory activated

Not sure this will work but its worth a try for now. Apple uses SSN and zip code as a security measure for the iphone when delivered by mail. Maybe if you just contact the original buyer all problem will be solved

original sim card might have a sim pin given

Read post carefully man they asking for Apple-4s not for appl-4 who says 5.1 apple 4s jailbreak or custom ipsw is available...???
