iphone 4s forgoten passcode.

action taken

restore to latest version 6.0.1 (error -1)
modify hosts file,set to cydia,set to apple,default hosts,cut hosts file, (error -1)
restore attempt number (15 times.) still error -1
i tried another cable,ports,and pc..but i got the same error.

and the worst thing is a5 devices is not supported by redsnow unless you are on normal mode..

i tried to pullout the battery and replug it in then restore,but still same error..

phone status : recovery mode

i tried the a lot of software to exit the recovery mode including tiny umbrella,ireb and iphoneyeta by whitesattan,but still on recovery mode.

redownload the firmware(ios 6.0.1) in any next pc and retry restoring .

after Error -1 jail break with new red snow
( i also have same problem ) after jailbreak my problem solved

Had the same problem, error -1, redownload the firmware, changed PC - SOLVED!

itunes -1 error most comes with somw issue in battery pin or Rf ic
i faced this trouble with 1 ip4s

iphone 4s is not supported on latest version of redsnow,it must be on normal mode to proceed on jailbreak process,,in my case,its imposible,becasue the device is in recovery mode.

same problem i was solve it easily....need 12.7 i tunes...then restore ios 6.0.1.......must be you are success...

Facing same issue. Phone was running well on 5.1.1. I did not had shsh saved and so tried to update, phone now bricked.

Apple blocks older versions once new versions come out. You cannot load 5.1.1 (as you have discovered) once 6.0 was released. As you will see complaints about every release and point release if you follow the forums you will never upgrade. Most people have no problems with the update, and those who do can solve those problems with a little effort and help.
