What is iTunes error 48 while restoring iPhone 4s?

I wanted to clean up (with the erase all content and data button) a jailbroken iPhone 4s, but it didn't work out too well, so I needed to update/restore to 8.3, but at the end of the process, I got error 48. Please DO NOT give me a Let me google for you link, because I DID google it, and DO NOT link the only YouTube video of this issue neither, because it is USELESS. Help me - and all the people who are facing this problem - find the answer. I called the Apple support few days ago, they said "It seems to be a hardware issue", but I cannot accept that, because my iPhone was working fine before I did the "erase all content and data" stuff. It must be a software problem, or something like that. I would appreciate your help. Sorry for my bad english btw.

I 've also done what exactly you did. my phone was also working very nicely before but after resetting to factory setting to make by jailbroken iphone to make it clean it stuck. After restoring it though itunes it gives error 48. Mac sopport service in my country says it is board problem and cannot be fix. it wouldn't be like this if i wouldn't have factory reset to my jailbroken iphone 4s. Seems very much like software issue , hard to believe isn't it

From what you have said, the iphone was jailbroken. You will not succeed updating a jailbroken iphone using itunes server. So try this :
1. download the current firmware of your device
2. run itunes and connect iphone in recovery mode
3. hold shift on the keypboard and press restore
4.select the firmware from the folder you had put it.
5.the process will begin and if you got the correct firmware ,your iphone 4s
will be restored.
Note.Apple has made it clear that support is not available for jailbroken iphones.
you will only succeed if
1.iphone 4s has previuos firmware of what they are signing
2.if warranty is not void due to infringement
3. If the iphone is in original form apple made it .SOFTWARE and HARDWARE.
Jailbreaking is an infringement.Pity they just can"t tell you the truth.
