Smile IPhone 4s Verizon working with T-Mobile SIM

I have never seen this before and everything I read regarding this subject says in the US, that an iPhone with an IMEI OR MEID TIED TO VERIZON CANNOT BE MADE TO WORK WITH A GSM BASED CARRIER.

Last evening, I inserted my T-Mobile SIM into a Verizon iPhone 4S, and within seconds it had service. Made several calls to confirm.

Anyone discover this as well. Usually, the Verizon 4s will respond with an invalid SIM message. Feed back please!!

The Verizon 4s phone IMEI begins with 99, like a typical Verizon only phone, well Verizon only in the US, but not the case here.

Thanks for any relavant comments.
