Post iPhone 4s Wifi / Connectivity Issues

Have an iPhone 4s , wifi issue & connectivity issues .

Will only work near a router not far away , has difficulty keeping a solid connection once connected even if I am in the same room as router.

Sometimes will be connected to wifi then will drop and go to 3g , having to go back to settings and wait for the handset to pickup the wifi again and re-connect

When browsing on the handset watching youtube videos or listening to audio takes a long time to stream content

and often get a spinnign circle in the top right corner too which im sure I didnt have that issue with my previous 4s

Any solutions ideas please ?!
