its showing as not unlocked ? also u can use CheckMEND :: The US's largest consumer electronics background reports service to make sure its not black listed

meens it has to be activated u may have to jailbreak it did u find out from ur mate what network it was on ?

i have same problem(4s),after update to os6 ,phone show simnot valid.
