iphone after jail break OR after making ipad baseband if stuck on APPLE logo can be taken out from it by greenpoison
as green poison does tethered jailbreak so phone will not get stuck in apple mode
just did few phones today by this solution
to download

and iphone (any) stuck on ITUNES (dfu or recovery) ANY BASEBAND can be taken out by Snowbreeze 2.2.1
1) just upload the file 4.2.1
2) choose simple mode
3) make custom firmware by it and follow the instructions after it
4) restore the phone by SHIFT+Restore on itunes with the custom firmware u just got on desktop

No Greenpoison does UNThetered Jailbreak.

it will work on 3G but not on 3G S new boot and also you must have shsh saved otherwise you wont' be able to restore 4.2.1..Apple stop signing 4.2.1..only way to restore is 4.3

you could still do it by snowbreeze however if u have 3g s new boot then will be tethered...
