Thumbs up

I found a solution to your problem, as I was having the same problem for about a week. If you are using Mac, then go to Applications -> utilities -> keychain Access. Once the program opened, type iPhone. You`ll find the device and login in this list. Click on one of them, the new window will open. Click on show password, enter your Mac administrator password, then you can see your iPhone encryption password. Hope it helps you.

If the above can’t help you, I also found a solution using an external program to decrypt backup password. You can try to use the application below just download the trial version and check if the password will be detected and will be recovered. It is “iPhone Backup Password Unlocker”.

The Q&A on how to unlock iPhone backup password will also help you much!

Please let me know if this helps. Thanks

I think if you did not change the iTunes backup password during the time, then the password would not change even though your iPhone has been upgraded. The iOS upgrading has nothing to do with the iTunes backup password, so it remains the same as long as you do not change it. So, one possibility is that you memorize the wrong password. Then, the only thing you can do is to use a password recovery tool to find out the password. It is said that Jihosoft iTunes Backup Unlocker is not bad, maybe you can give it a try to see if it suits your need. Good luck!

If you have forgotten the password for iTunes encrypted backup, you can fix this by following these steps:
On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Reset.
Tap Reset all settings and enter your iOS password.
Follow the steps to reset your settings. This will not affect your user data or password but will reset settings such as display brightness, home screen layout, and wallpaper. It will also delete your encrypted backup password.
Connect your device to iTunes again and create a new encrypted backup.
You will not be able to use the previous encrypted backup, but you can use iTunes to back up your current data and set a new backup password.
If your device uses iOS 10 or earlier, you won't be able to reset your password. In this case, try the following:
If someone else has set up your device, ask for their password.
If this method is not feasible, you can also try using an older iTunes backup.
of course, you can try to use another method like using third-party tool to fix your iPhone backup password issue.
