Questions to ask:

1- Are you able to update automatically to 3.0 via iTunes?
(just by pressing on the update button)

2- Are you able to restore normally with iTunes?
(just by pressing on the restore button)

If not, are you on the old iTunes on the new one (ver.8.2.0.23)?

3 - Did you try to restore manually via shift+restore?

4 - Did you try to update manually via shift+update?

Try to restore manually with a 3.0 firmware...it will probably give you the error and it will ask you to restore. From there just click on the restore button. It should restore perfectly well. When the restore is done, now click on the update button...

Try to work it around...I am really sure that you can fix this
THANKS FOR U REPLAY
i'm using latest version of itunes as i worte in my posts (version 8.2.0.23)
in all 4 ways (1. restore manually via shift+restore 2. update manually via shift+update 3.restore normally with iTunes 4. update automatically with iTunes) i'm gotting same error (error 14)
