Hi, i am getting 1603 - 1604 errors when in DFU mode trying to restore with custom 3.1.3 on my 2g iphone, the phone will only power on when plugged in so when it goes to reboot it switches off, any ideas cheers.

Hi,
I experience this error also (error 23). This phone only turns on when I put the USB cable in it and then shuts off. If I put it in DFU mode it stays on but when I try to restore it with iTunes I get error 23.
How can I know the known error's for error 23?

I see so far Bad flash ic, Bad USB connection. What else, I want to try eliminate all other problems.

This phone came to me not powering up. The customer said that she turned the SIM tray wrong and it broke off. Took it to a friend who claimed he could fix it. Pulled the phone apart (the looks of the phone's housing he had no clue what he was doing) to get the remaining pieces, put it back together and now it not turns on.

I took it apart to see if all the connectors were in place which they were.

So were do I go from here?

Thanks

This is what I know so far. The phone came from other country. The customer wanted to try SIM in it but placed it wrong and the SIM tray broke off in phone. They now took apart the phone (this was not done by professional) and put it back together now it only power up to apple logo and shuts down. When I plug in the USB it does same. If I put it in DFU mode it stays on. I try to restore it and get the error 23 message.

Thanks

error 23 means bad flash chip or poor connection

change cable also try other PC don't use USB hub use direct USB
try to put in Recovery Mode and make Restore

Solution 4 Error 1611 :

1- Change the USB port the phone is plugged in to. Do not plug the phone back in yet.
2- Reboot the computer then plug the phone in and immediately restart the phone in DFU WHILE CONNECTED to the computer.
3- Hit restore.
