i have iphone 4 with ios4.3.5(8L1) with baseband 04.10.01.Now is working with gevey pro locked from t-mobile germany can i update with ios 5.0.1 with preserve baseband then jailbreak with redsnow and if i can what is procedure for jailbreaking and updating for ios 5.0.1

yes gevy working fine on ios 5.01 with bb 4.10.1 allready tested many time?

bro i know but i ask procedure to update from ios 4.3.5 to ios5.0.1 without updating baseband details for xp

i put phone in dfu mode and i try to restore firmware 5.0.1 with no bb but when i try to restore with latest itune's give me error 1601

be carefull to upgrade ios5 for your iphone4 coz my friend try to update his iphone same your ihone version and baseband after upgrade ios 5 the phone no imei,no blutooth coz her baseband automatic update to 4.11.08 and now the iphone is no service... and until now there is no solution and waiting mode....

note:be carefull

put your device in pwned dfu mode using latest redsnow before you restore.

is your friend make custom ipsw with no bb then update with itunes to ios 5.0.1 no bb ?

I guess he did not preserve baseband as usually people dont really worry about that.

Anyways did u solve ur issue? you have to leave HOST file pointing to apple server not cydia 127.XXXXXX
