iPhone4s 1601 error while restoring to 5.0.1 - GSM-Forum

Hi,
I have a iPohne 4s that has 5.0.1 SHSH backup in cydia but I can't restore to 5.0.1 even it's not the first time when I am restoring by using cydia blobs

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
hosts:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
shift-restore 5.0.1
but I get 1601 error at the begining...

what's wrong??????????

At the moment it's impossible to restore or downgrade the 4S or any other A5 device to IOS 5.01 because Apple is not signing any more. Sorry. Your only option is to restore 5.1 and wait for a jailbreak solution.

Hi,

You can restore via iFaith since SHSH is saved.
Make custom firmware and update in PWN DFU Mode.

No, he cannot. That's only possible with the 3GS and A4 devices.

I can't belive: I have a iphone 4s with 5.0.1 firmware version and also SHSH backup for this version and I can't restore it to 5.0.1
...what is the purpouse of cydia saveing shsh's for 4s and ipad2 since there is no way for restore it ... let me guess future updates...

Because 4s doesn't support downgrade procedure with or without SHSH .
Was written 1000 times here, in the forum .

Because A5 devices use a different bootloader that was not exploited yet and cannot be pwned in dfu mode with Limera1n alike tools.

where did you get the ideea that I want to downgrade?
I have a phone that has 5.0.1 version and also 5.0.1 shsh backup in cydia and I want to restore to SAME 5.0.1 version but I gat that stupid error

Apple now only signs 5.1 so even if U want to restore 5.0.1 to 5.0.1 U can't do that because Apple is not signing that sw now
