You should only use iTunes 10.1 if you plan to install iOS 4.2.1. Itunes.
But limera1n DOES NOT work for iOS 4.2.1. Also, TinyUmbrella doesn't kick the device out of recovery in iTunes 10.1.
You better go back to iTunes 10 and iOS 4.1. Otherwise, you should use Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1.
