hello bro. i've just fixed that error just change the battery from an other ip4s everything will be fine. try to restore it. hope it helps.

I had error 29

Check R61 and R153 next to battery connector they are 0 ohm resistor links that go to U52 and tell the chip the state of the battery.

if either of these are broken or cracked, the restore will fail at about 70% with error 29

check your restore log...

'RamrodErrorDomain/3ea: update_gas_gauge: gasgauge_swupdate returned -1'

Replacing or bridging these resistors wil fix it. It worked for me anyway.

I have same problem , how can i know withch battery is correct , i have now 616-0580 , i have to put same or more new one,

i have 616-0579 battery, 616-0580 is the same so should work

if it does not, see my previous post above for possible solution

error 29 software problem
remove all other usb
remove all other devices
update ur itunes
change cable
it will work

Can u send me a snapshot of these resistors i cant locate these in schematics. I have a iPhone4 in recovery mode connect to itunes its stuck on 70% while restore n shows error 29. Pls help

the solution i posted was for Iphone 4S not Iphone 4 , but the solution will be the same, download 4S schems as well as 4, find the resistors on the 4s schem and try to find the equivelent on the 4 schem

Dear if u face this eroor first Overwrite the Host File ,ur old host file avaiable in ur C: DRIVE
SELECT THEN NEW HOSTFILE WHERE IS LOCATED AND REPLACE IT
IF U NEED U CNA CONTNAT WITH US I WILL PROVIDE THE HOST FILE
100% UR PROBLEM SOLVE LIKE 3194 Error
