When trying to restore Iphone 4G 4.1 version via Itunes10 version always breaks in the middle and occurs error 1004.After using ireb phone is ok.
What is the problem?

sir, i have ipod 2g its always gives me this error 3194 and read the instructions given but i have download the 4.0.2 firmware still the same error and my problem now is that i don't have the SHSH backup so, is there any other way to fix this problem.

This happens if you cannot update the baseband. Reason for this is 99% that you changed your hosts file to point to Saurik server. If you really want to upgrade your baseband to make it unlockable, remove the line with gs.apple.com from your hosts file, reboot and retry. When you start TinyUmbrella and close it, it's changed back. This is a security mechanism to prevent people from upgrading their baseband. If you upgrade your baseband to version 2.10.04 (of did that already), then there's no way back and you cannot unlock it. To unlock it you still need a jailbreak of course and there is no jailbreak for firmware 4.1 right now (at least not for iPhone 4). But if you have an Apple-unlocked phone, you can upgrade your baseband of course.

To install or resinstall any firmware version, you need shsh file. For current firmware 4.1 you get it from Apple.

Without shsh backup on Cydia you cannot downgrade to 4.0.2. You can only install 4.1, because Apple still gives out shsh for 4.1.

But better you check with TinyUmbrella tool first: In Advanced, select Cydia and version 4.0.1. Then click "Save SHSH" button. If it says "you're too late", then shsh for 4.0.1 is NOT on Cydia. Retry for all versions.

BUT: You're lucky and have an old ipt2. This device has no shsh check built-in. This means that this check is done by the new iTunes. With any other tool to install firmware you can still install ANY firmware there without having shsh! I think the redsn0w tool should work for you.

Itunes Error 1618 : missing system files or broken corrupt data itunes installation. Try to uninstall itunes, restart computer, & install again.

Error 28:
Hardware error. Return your device to Apple if possible. The problem is a bad dock connector on the iPhone. Must change the connector.

I just got a disabled ipod touch 2g...i restored it... after that .. try to install application ...When i sync any ..its says that .."This xyz application was not install because the ipod touch is not verified"
something like that ....

Dear mate, There i sno error code but my iphone was not recognized with itunes in windows 7....if i put my iphone in recovery its working fine...i mean its connecting and displays that ur iphone is in recovery mode.....my iphone connects with others pc...so please do kindly advice me the solution as soon as possible...awaiting for your reply.....
