My locked iPhone 4 got Unlocked by itself! - GSM-Forum

I have an iPhone 4 that is locked to Swisscom Switzerland and I am using a Gevey Ultra Sim to unlock it for over a year and half now. Few hours ago I was playing with SAM and removed the Gevey Ultra, then restarted, and connected the phone to PC and ran iTunes. It showed everything is fine in iTunes so I looked to network in the phone and for my amazement it is working. I removed sim, restarted, and powered off and on many times and it is still working!

With Gevey Ultra Sim, it took about 15-20 seconds to show network but now it shows it instantly

I am on 6.1.2 Untethered Jailbreal and BB: 04.10.01

Swisscom will unlock all iPhones starting from July 1st anyway, but I wanted to know how the hell did that happen ?!

I checked my IMEI but it says: SIM lock: Locked

Any explanation ?

Any explication about what? Your phone is still locked! Maybe after 1st July can be unlocked....

Please re-read my post. I said it is "unlocked" right now and working without the Gevey Ultra SIM

Gevey Sim Convince the Phone that The Sim is the Original Simcard
After While WE Saw This BUG in some phones it can work without Gevey but it doesn't mean your phone is unlocked
as long as u checked the imei and it's Locked then it's locked (Trusted imei checker ofcorse )
After while Your phone will have network problem and u will have to put gevey back

And BTW i Do Respect Sohag People They Are Kind People

Thank you very much for the explanation. It is strange that I haven't read it anywhere during my search except for the one incident when SAM was used for unlocking during a loophole that Apple closed within a day or two.

I also respect people from Alexandria and love the city so much.
