Need help with Downgrade 3gs 4.2.1 to 4.0 - GSM-Forum

I cant seem to downgrade this 3gs to earlier firmware.

These are my steps
I have installed custom 4.2.1 firmware without baseband update
Phone is working with 4.2.1
start redsnow and entered pwngd DFU
Open tinyumbrella and start TSS server (this 3gs have saved all 3.1.2 to 4.1 SHSH on Cydia server
Start Itunes and shift restore to 4.0 3gs.
Itunes is flashing firmware all the way and when finish it says the phone will restart this message will close in x seconds.
After that the phone is dead and wont turn on not even showing itunes restore logo
when i connect to itunes it says that the phone needs restore

i cant kick out of recovey with tinyumbrella because button is blank
i cant jailbreak because it wont connect

anybody solved this issue

if i use redsnow to enter pwng dfu i can restore again to custom 4.2.1. without problems

Bro ,now ur phone is in dfu mode,to get out from tht mode press home button and power button simultaniously for 15sec after tht u can see apple logo on ur phone

the only problem is that you have new boot rom nothing else you must use thetherd unlock method with redsn0w

i flashed the phone with 4.1 custom firmware and after that jailbreak with redsnow. it finish the process and after that the phone just stays black??????????

when i use redsnow and boot tethered than the phone comes on and works

when i turn it off it wont turn on itself

very strange, the phone is on 4.1???

but if i downgrade to lets say 3.1.3 or 4.0 is it still tethered than.

yes but its now only for mac user atm

hey i have had that problem and best bet is to stay at 4.2.1 till dev team come out wil baseband downgrade. It will not downgrade

I had a 3gs that was stuck in recovery mood(itunes n cable screen).
I dint know what firmware/baseband it was running..
Though it was running new boot rom (confirmed via usb view)

Reading the forums
What i did

Restored it to a custom 4.1 firmware, All went good but when it finished restoring,the phone was in DFU mode.
I thought i should give 4.2.1 a try
SO restored to a custom 4.2.1 ,Again All went fine And the phone ended up being in DFU mode.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?
I am running itunes(latest 10.1)
windows xp
plz help
