New Power Button still not working

My Iphone 4 came to me used with non working power button. I replaced the button and the power cable itself with new and still does not work.

When assembled in frame there seems to be no "travel" what so ever. I can activate switch on power cable with fingernail but not with button through the frame. On instructions I am using it says replace the metal bracket (that holds the two screws) with the old one. I have three cables now.. org. and two new.. and they are all the same. However the bracket in question looks to be plastic not metal. Is there another piece that goes in there between frame and power cable? If so I have not seen it in any video. Everything fits fine.. but button is "locked" so it cannot work.
I am thinking bent frame but sure cannot see it.

Phone is usable without.. but this bugs me.

Ok finally fixed the problem. I had ordered both a new button and a new flex cable button assembly. I installed both and no love. Finally went with original oem metal button and the new flex cable and it works fine. Both buttons look the same right down to the wire loop on the bottom .. but aftermarket would just not work.
Nice to have Power button again.
I did have a heart stopping moment when it would not boot up. Reset my connectors, still no boot. Cycled battery connection and it booted right up.
Success.
