I want to buy an iphone 3gs 16 GB but it is box packed i know its ime, serial, and part no. I just want to confirm is it factory unlocked or not. The person says its factory unlocked but not agree to open it before this deel (payment). pls any body help me how to check is it unlocked or not.

put your sim card in it download itunes latest connect ur phone to itunes if your handset starts working then its factery unlocked if not then its locked by some provider

pls read my question again and give answer if u can. I already told that i can't open it that is sealed pack just i can read its serial imei no etc. so how can i put a sim in it?????

any body else pls tell me there is a site to check by serial i've seen it on this forum

go to any apple store and ask them for unlocked iphone they will charge a little more and give you unlocked and jail-broken

please read my question carefully and give me answer. I don't have any apple store near here and I just want to know about the iphone 3gs which is in my hand I cant open it untill i purchase it, So if there is any way to determine is it factory unlocked or not by its serial no or imei no?????

boy its very very easy............stop sucking, just take the imei or serial number of the bottom of the box and call APPLE CUSTUMER SUPPORT and ask them they will tell you in 5 secs if unlocked if not what carries is lock to

I do it all the time because i also buy seal iphones
