His tool, “Subscriber Artificial Module (SAM)” tricks your iPhone and iTunes into creating legitimate activation tickets even though you’re unlocked with ultrasn0w. This means you get the full benefit of push applications, and your battery life increases substantially. If you’d like to try it out, check out Subscriber Artificial Module To help make it easier to try out @sbingner’s tool, we’ve updated redsn0w to include a new “Deactivate” option for the 3G and 3GS. Use this option *after* you’ve installed SAM…it will remove the normal patches made to lockdownd and let SAM take over. (sbingner plans on making a button to do this within SAMPrefs too). Great work, @sbingner! Thanks @sbingner for the hard work, as usual we will prepare the full step by step guide, showing you how to use SAM and the newly redsn0w 0.9.6b6. Member: 1494746 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I ran a search on google and could not find an answer. Does anyone know if I need this fix? I am asking because, I used jailbreakme not redsn0w to jailbreak. I did however use ultrasn0w through cydia to unlock. I noticed that in the instructions for SAM, it required us to go through redsn0w again but when I go through redsn0w with just the deactivate button it puts me to the apple screen and I have to restore then jailbreak&unlock again. So what I did was ignore the whole deactive with redsn0w and just did the "Click "Revert Lockdownd to Stock" in Settings>SAM". However, my phone would always activate itself before iTunes activates it so I am not sure if SAM even worked. I have an old at&t sim btw and the phone never activates with it in there, but when I put the t-mobile sim in, it activates right away. Also, on the SAM website, if you look in troubleshooting, why are there three different options to go about running SAM? Isn't option #1 the easiest? Does option #2 and #3 work better?
