thanks for the help,
And i know there isnt any solution yet.
thats why if doing this =)

and this is the part that makes me abit frustrated

i can write these files to phone witout problems:
iPhone2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw and iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw
and phone works after i restore with them.

but when using custom (jailed) ios4 firmware it always gets error in itunes.

so what is the difrence betwean the custom and original?
what data inside the firmware is changed?

what makes my iphone or itunes to know that one ipsw is original and can be flashed and the other is custom and can't be flashed?

if it's al about some bits inside the ipsw cant we just edit those?

BuildManifest.plist is missing in custom firmware.
but can be found in: iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw

Restore.plist from custom and org contains same data.

file can be seen here: http://www.dreamboxsweden.com/iphone...Manifest.plist

is there any public tool for edeting firmwares in windows?

after playing around abit more and editing firmware i was able to write back parts of cusom firmware (i think) long way from understanding this
but i end up wit this in irecovey
Quote:
HFSInitPartition: 0x4ff90a80
Not HFS+ (signature 0x0000)
root filesystem mount failed
Entering recovey mode, starting command promt
could this have to do with sizes of partitions?
can root partitions be on any other adress?
if someone know how to read enviroment data pls tel me =)
