Restore Question - GSM-Forum

I downloaded an ipsw file .....iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Custom_Restore.ipsw and want to try restore my 3g with this file through itunes.

my question is if i restore this file through itunes will it upgrade my baseband, which i do not want as i want to unlock the phone

no will not update your baseband ,in 3g u have to flash your baseband then it will b unlock at 4.1.if your baseband 6.15 then no need to install baseband
