As we all know, Sn0wbreeze never update the baseband (It always preserves the baseband). But, this new feature (Baseband Preservation Mode) in Sn0wbreeze 2.2 is something different. What this does is, it will Preserve Your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS & iPhone 3G’s Baseband while restoring it to iOS 4.2.1 – [No Jailbreak & Unlock].

Okay. But, How is this feature going to help me Jailbreak & Unlock ? Selecting Baseband Preservation Mode from Sn0wbreeze 2.2, you can restore your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS & iPhone 3G to iOS 4.2.1 while preserving the baseband, then use RedSn0w 0.9.7 Beta to Jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS & iPhone 3G and then use the latest version of Ultrasn0w to Unlock your iPhone .

According to @iH8sn0w, the development is going to be quick. But, testing may take little longer. So, please do not bug @iH8Sn0w, he will release it when its ready for prime time.

would it not be better to use limera1n to jailbreak to ensure an untethered boot? merry Christmas to you All

it would if you re on 4.1 but 4.2.1 its tethered and dev team still working on untethered as its on beta
