Solution. how to downgrade iphone 4.0.1 and 4.0.0 to 3.x.x then you can unlock it

iTunes 9.1
3.1.3 OS or any other FW you desire
iRecovery and LibUSB


How to :

1. Donwload the 3.1.3 , iRecovery and Libusb . Install the LibUSB package

2. Connect your iPhone via USB, load iTunes and shift+restore with the original 3.1.3 firmware

3. During the restore process you will get an 1015 error. Don’t worry, that’s normal. Just click ok and close iTunes.

4. Open a command prompt "from start, run then type CMD then hit enter "
and cd "Change directory " into the "iRecovery_SVN" directory. you should remember where did you download it on your PC.




now run iRecovery.exe by typing iRecovery.exe -s and hit enter.
i phone should be connected in recovery mode

5. Now iRecovery should recognize your iPhone

6. now type those orders...

setenv auto-boot true ( hit enter )
saveenv ( hit enter )
fsboot ( hit enter )

7. Unplug your iPhone and turn it off by pressing the home+power button. Once it is off, turn it on by pressing the power button. Plug-in your iPhone and load iTunes to continue with the activation.


now youjailbreak you iphone by redsnow and unlock it with this way

3g v 4 already tested and successfull jaibreak and unlock with redsn0w and ultrasn0w

you still dont need to downgrade 3g from 4.0.1 to jailbreak use redsn0w and jailbreak as 4.0.....the only reason to downgrade 3g to 3.1.3 is only for 1 reason 4.0 and 4.0.1 makes 3g applications run slow

How to use these instructions.
Upgrading to 4.0 is a simple multi-step process. You must follow each step in
order.
If possible please Sync your iPhone with iTunes before starting these
instructions, as your data WILL be wiped off of the iPhone. You will get the
data and settings back if you have syncʼd your contacts, email, photos etc
before you start.
As you will be wiping the iPhone, any applications you downloaded onto the
iPhone will be removed but the Apple App store applications can be downloaded
for free again if you have downloaded them previously.
BEFORE YOU START
If when starting your computer you did not have to select a user and enter a
password do not continue with these instructions. For these instructions to work
your account must have Administrator permissions on your computer.

Unlocking and upgrading iPhone 3GS to 4.0 (5 Steps)
Step 1.
Download the custom firmware file below. (remember where you save the file)
When the file have downloaded check its sizes match the following:
iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore_jailbreak.ipsw should be approximately 398 MB
*If the file above gets saved as a ".zip" file, DO NOT extract the folder. You
need to rename the ".zip" extension to ".ipsw", If you don't know how to do this
click here, or simply use Firefox Browser. Download Firefox browser here
If you seem to have problems downloading the file as it's quite large, try
clearing your internet cache before downloading or consider using a download
manager and the Firefox web browser.

Step 2.
Connect your iPhone to the computer using a cable not the Docking Device.
Step 3.
You will now see a screen with an iPhone called the “Summary”
Hold down the Shift on your keyboard, and Click "Restore"
If you do this correctly you will be asked to select a file to open. If you get
anything else click cancel and start Step 3 again
Step 4.
In the pop up window that appears navigate to where you downloaded the file (in
step 1) and select it
iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw and click open
NOTE: This may take 10-15 minutes depending on the condition of your iphone
PLEASE BE VERY PATIENT DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR IPHONE
DO NOT TOUCH YOUR IPHONE UNTIL YOU SEE THE HOME SCREEN WITH ALL THE ICONS OR YOU
ENCOUNTER AN ERROR MESSAGE


Now, we need to Unlock your iPhone 3GS
IMPORTANT: If you have a PIN code lock on your sim card, you should remove it
before proceeding.
You need to have your iPhone connected to the internet when proceeding with the
steps below. (WiFi would be the best option if available)
Using "Cydia"
T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before proceeding.
Settings --> General --> Network --> Enable 3G (OFF)
Click "Cydia" on your iPhone Home screen (usually on the 2nd page)
Click on "Manage" - the 2nd icon from the bottom right
Click on "Sources"
Click on "Edit" and then "Add"
Type the following ultrasn0w.com and click "Add Source"
Please note: "0" in "yellowsn0w" is the number "ZERO", NOT the letter "O"
Click "Return to Cydia" and then "Done" on the top right
Now go to "Search" - the 1st icon from the bottom right
Type "ultrasn0w" in the search bar
once the ultrasn0w application appears, click on it and then click "Install" on
the top right corner, click "confirm"
After the application is installed, Restart your iPhone 3G with the sim card
that you would like to use.
If you don't see signal within 2 minutes of turning ON your iPhone, just remove
and reinsert the sim card while your iPhone is ON
That's it.. your iPhone 3G should be now Unlocked.
