Unlocked 3GS (Model: MC131B) Cannot make/receive calls or sms

Hi, I have searched through this forum and many others for hours but my problem seems to be a rare case for a few people, and others just aren't explaining clearly enough to know if its similar to my situation.

I have restored my iphone in itunes to 4.2.1, entered it into DFU mode and used redsn0w to install cydia and ipad baseband. Now my phone is tethered, so I boot it up using redsn0w, get into my iphone fine. Then I install ultrasn0w 1.2 (been using the without wifi packs as its easier and does the same) and reboot. Once i reboot using redsn0w my phone seems to have unlocked, I have the t-mobile logo, it reads my sim as it allows me to import contacts and browse the internet...however I cannot make or receive any calls or sms'. My baseband is 06.15.00 so it isn't that, I have restored using custom IPSW's and then re-jailbroken my phone and alas I am back to the same situation, an unlocked phone which cant call or text anyone.

I have tried certain methods like installing Push Doctor, caller ID on/off, airplane mode on/off, 3G on/off etc. Does anyone know of anything I can do?

I can give advice where needed as alot of people can't seem to get as far as I have.

Well that's my issue, it shouldn't be barred...my friend gave me his old phone but because I had restored on itunes with no real knowledge of what I was doing I was stuck having to upgrade my baseband.

I do get signal, and it does recognise my SIM, I am on a contract with t-mobile and it identifies that, allowing me to surf the web and such on 3G (i know the picture has wi-fi enabled just ignore that) I just can't make or recieve calls/texts

And thanks shak360, but I can't even count how many times I have re-restored now, different methods included.

You MUST have Show My Caller ID set to ON in Settings >> Phone
and also try this
Can make calls but cannot receive despite having full service
Ensure Call Waiting, Call Forwarding and TTY are all turned OFF within Settings >> Phone
At version 3.0, if you get this problem, go to Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> Fetch New Data, PUSH needs to be OFF.
