Those Who Want Go Back On OS 4 ...

In earlier June, precisley after Apple released iOS 5 beta 2, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev-team announced for the first time that restoring with saved SHSH blobs are nearing the end. He said "the days of restoring with saved SHSH blobs are nearing an end

Apple is getting much smarter with the APTicket".

Today MusclNerd is confirming what he said earlier, he announced that saving iOS 5 SHSH blobs is not available anymore. To make it clear, MusclNerd words mean that you won't be able to downgrade from future versions of iOS 5 to pervious versions of iOS 5. But you still able to downgrade from iOS 5 to any lower iOS version that you have its SHSH blobs.

But we still have some hopes, as MuscleNerd has mentioned that Dev-team will be able to defeat this issue with more cat & mouse. So, we highly recommend to stay away from any upcoming update of iOS 5.x.x until hackers confirm that it's jailbreakable firmware.

the problem is not in itunes itself but in server part of it so no matter what vesion you use it won't work

lol wtf you dont understand ????
you can still downgread to lower versions then 5 if you got shsh
but from 5 and newer versions (no new versions yet !) you wont be able to downgrade as they changed the way server verify your ticket.
so you wont be able to go back to version 5 if version 5.1 will be out even if you got your 5 shsh saved.

seems like the new ios imnplement new way to give you a ticket to restore iphone in another way of shsh blobs, i thought it will be a hardware modification for new devices but like musclenerd says

Tinyumbrella extract shsh blobs from apple server who sign defined version of ios based on ecid of the device on the apple server, so the new security implemantation its based on generate the " blobs " sign in random way based on the ecid from your device to identify

so if you generate a ticket to restore your device apple server will sign with shsh generated just for one time for this ecid, means the next time you generate restore ticket to restore your device the shsh blobs signature will be diferent and the past shsh generated will be obsolete

thats why it cannot be possible to backup shsh blobs in next generation of ios 5

also new devices such as ipad 2 and iphone 4gs have new hardware inside and dont have any " bootrom " inside so the LIMERA1n exploit used in redsn0w, greenpois0n and so on will be obsolete on this new devices

means this devices cannot be jailbreaked even in thetered mode , the only way to jailbreak this devices its based on "userland jailbreak " who use kernel exploits such as jailbreakme.com , the bad news is the most knowed hacker behind this solutions its comex and now he is working with apple , so he have the keys to close this doors

in resume , next generation of apple products and ios development will require new exploits and new tools based on another tricky or this market will go on to the next step, the profecional way using jtaging such as htc and android phones, the only problem its this devices its not based on qualcomm techs and hope profecional teams will not forget to watch on the iphone side cause will generate a lot of money to everyone

it's because you can't save SHSH on 5.0 for now
so when you go higher than 5.0 you won't be able to downgrade back to 5.0
because there's no SHSH for it

but in case that you have SHSH for 4.x.x you're still good to go
