I cannot understand why many are still asking about this issue.

IF the un-powered iphone is just opened (use a sucker) and unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom, lift the lower metal shield, just look at the chip on the left and see the marks on it.

IF it is 36MY1EE then it is SAFE .... ELSE .... NOT SAFE!

At the time of writing the NON SAFE chips are 36MY1EH/F.

Is it that hard???? Check the attachment as an example to what i am referring to. This NOR chip is marked in a red ellipse.

In my experience out of 20+ i met, all those having 36MY1EE flashed with ipad baseband and had no problems. This NOR is the old one.

Are you sure the problem happened after or it had another problem beforehand?

Very strange indeed Try to do this. Restore to 4.1. Then kick out of recovery. If it persists to stay in recovery, restore again with 4.1 and kick it out of recovery use tinyumbrella or whatever you like. Then use redsnow0.9.6b6 to jailbreak and install the ipad baseband. Let's see if the situation changes.

Its the first time i ever read about such a situation. Rechecked a unit i have left around of a client and confirm that it is the old 36MY1EE. Working without any problems after flashing the ipad baseband.

Can you compare the motherboard with another working one? Something is different then, it must be the case if you are 100% sure that it is not hardware related.

I am assuming that when you opened and lifted the plate off, no damaged has been done. Am asking as i saw certain instances where surrounding components have been damaged..... even just slightly will produce this same problem.
