what version of sw is on 3gs what bb?

Try many times and will work
You don't put correct the phone in dfu mode

you have to downgrade your iOS to 4.1 firstly , and after you have to use Redsn0w go to
Extra>Select IPSW> Select 4.1 firmware > try to downgrade your baseband again

easy way for downgrade baseband on iOS 4.1
