Post Zogo V908 "Google Maps" bug.

Gentleman,

I just wanted to make potential buyers aware of a little problem that develops with the Zogo V908 china phone. If anyone is able to come up with a solution, I would be interested to hear. I no longer use this phone so I do not personally care. I just want to make the buyer / user aware.

After changing certain default Java profile settings "Google Maps 1.0" will cease to work. Changing Java settings back does not fix the problem. I have tried reinstalling the application, but it does not work. The only option for me was to reset the phone. I suspect there is some kind of bug within the software, but I am not a programmer. I can only speculate.

My conclusion is that changing your default Java settings on this phone will cause this software function to become inoperable. All other pre-installed Java programs seem to work fine with the changed settings.

Also, you may see the manufacturer website here: V908-Mobile Phone V908, Side-Slide Design

They don't seem to answer my English-written e-mails.

Happy dialing!

Hi, I found similar problem with my Zogo V908, but in my case it's the MiniOpera browser which stopped working. All other Internet applets (Google Maps, Snaptu, etc.) are still working fine. I tried to install other browsers, but the phone keeps returning a cryptic message "Failed to connect to the Internet: b03 java.io.IOException: null".
I'll try to contact the manufacturer, but I'm not very confident about this because Chinese are well known for having nothing of after sales support. Anyway...
Best regards to everybody, I'll came back if I get any news.
