Cannot readback flash file - GSM-Forum

I'm trying to backup the flash image from my I9+++ (I68+) but cannot get mtk flashtools to work at all. I have purchased the correct flash cable, so I don't understand why I'm not able to read it. The phone is very recent, I believe it to be an mtk6225. It may be that the hardware isn't supported yet, can you confirm this please?

If I have the battery removed when starting readback I get the error [brom] fail to get target baseband H/W version

When I put the battery in with the flash cable connected the phone powers up automatically. Then if I try readback nothing happens. No error, no reading, nothing, just sits there.

Any help here please?
