Hi,

I have a Samsung s5 badged MT-6592.

I can't get into recovery mode, I think the phone is missing file update zip

I am trying to get into recovery mode to reload factory settings, as there is a problem connecting to the uk phone network.

If I try to go into download mode, the menu items are in Chinese, which I can't understand.

Can anyone help?

More chances it is an MTK 6582 or MTK 6572: try using mtk droid tool.

Hi Ales,

Thanks for that.

I installed and ran the programme, built the splash file, when it asked for the other programme, SP something, it wouldn't install, I tried it from various sites, each time the installer finished and the programme was not installed.

Maybe because I use win 7 64 bit?

Any other suggestions?

Hi,
If you use norton antivirus it put in quarantine few dlls as for reputation junk, so be carefull.
As well you should run the software as administrator from the unzipped folder

Hi,

I don't use norton, but I do have micrsoft security essentials.

It reports that "Hacktool:androidOS/Zergrush.B" was quarantined.

Would that be the programme I was trying to load, or is this an add on from something else?

If this file is required, could you point me in the direction of trying to resolve it?
