HDC I9250 Country lock

It seems I recently, by mistake bought a ******* of Galaxy Nexus (HDC A9250) which run on a 1.2ghz Mediatek processor ( MT6575) as per Antutu tester (it also show the manufacturer as Samsung and model name as Galaxy nexus ). Its a Dual SIM phone running 4.0.2 and also identifies SIM card and network but does not make calls ? Seems its country lock..how to unlock it? It also does not have Gapps installed in it?

I was able to root it...although an older version of super one click worked for me..Now I only have Google play on phone...no gmail and maps...also in google play only shows very few apps ( 5-10 apps in total)..for rest it says "your device is not compatible with this version "...not even gmail,FB,twitter,maps...forget any games at all

Any help would be greatly appreciated...I tried following above process..but could not root the phone

as u told you phone able identify sim + network then sure its not sp lock/country lock.

can u try to update you android fw?

Thanks, I thought of doing so.....but I could not do so...as I'm not sure of the original manufacturers name,model no etc...I could not find firmwares because of that...any heads up would be greatly appreciated...
