How to change wallpaper? N97C! - GSM-Forum

Alrite guys,

I just recieved my Copy of the n97 today and i cant seem to change my wallpaper on my NCKIA n97c or even change the ring tone, neone had this problem before and know how to fix it? I'd like my hot gals on my background not a picture of a Flower lol.

tried to change it through chinese pc suite yet that didnt work! help? I tried to do it in the phone, there no option to! how do i do it!?

I also have the N97c and you can change it in the options. Go in the main menu to Settings go to phone setup go to display characteristics go to wallpaper, there you can go to system to use one standard wallpaper of the system, I can recommend the last one "theme image" (it's without flowers!), or you can go instedt to system to "User defined" and take your own picture, which you have on the phone or on the memory card!
Now to the ring tones: main menu_ go to user profiles- go to general (or any other you want) go to customize go to tone setup- go to SIM incoming call (or any other tone setup you want to change), there you can select the ring tone you want, a non standard ring tone has to be put on the phone memory first. A special ring tone for persons or groups in your phonebook, can be changed in the menu

honebook - scroll down to caller ring tone - select ring tone - select forward to phonebook - there you can choose between new contact, select contact or caller group, to which you want to put the tone.

is there anyway to stop the phone from changing it's wallpaper?

it changed everytime you shake the phone and it's annoying.

oh yes had teh same problem, you can change the settings of the phone in that way, that you tell what functions react to the shakeing.
Go to the main menu - go to settings - phone setup - scroll down to GSensor funtion - there you find 7 items which could react to the shake, the last one is teh switch of teh wallpaper, take it off, and put only the Items on you want to react to shake, like music, radio, auto rotation image or so on

does anyone want to start a "N97 OFFICIAL" thread?

the phone's relatively new and I think some people would appreciate if we made one instead of making different threads for the same phone

I've been encountering some problems with the phone myself even after reading the manual

I just discovered a serious problem with this phone.

so when you receive an SMS (for example, from John in SIM 1), you read it then lets say you don't reply back and just decide to lock your phone back.

the problem starts when you open your phone again and decide to send an SMS to someone else *doesnt matter if it's from SIM1 or SIM2*, it saves the number whom you just read your text from (and this example from John) --- it skips the part when it's asking you who to send the SMS to. In result, you send the text message meant for someone else TO John. Even if you try to CANCEL the sending it still does it.

I almost got in trouble TWICE today because of this and I'm trying to find a way for the phone not to do this.
