Sigmatel Format without any tool:-

Hold the power key 1 minute 10 sec...
with full charge battry ..and look ......
ur set will formate & ask touch calibration ..
do that ur set is ok now without pc.
tested on sigmtel s3 s2 s4 s8 s9 and many.......just try
