Unlock procedure
- MAKE SURE THE MODEM-SOFTWARE (the software you use to connect the DataCard to the internet) is CLOSED.
This means: you can NOT unlock the Data card if it is ACTIVE (connected to the GSM network) !!!

1. Connect your Huawei data card to your PC (make sure any drivers for the card are installed)
2. OpenThe software
3. Select the correct Phone Setting
• For E220 select E220
• For E618 select E618
• For Huawei 169G, E620, E628, E630, E630+, 226x, E270, E271, E272, E870 or E870X select E620
4. Now click “Unlock Huawei”

Since it seems some people don't manage to select correct com port when unlocking this datacards, here how to do:

"When unlocking these models: : E160, E169, E270, E272, E620, 226, E628, E630, E870
- look at the port number for the "huawei mobile connect 3g modem" you can see this in device manager.
- click in "modems" then right click "huawei mobile connect-3g modem" and then properties. Then select "modem" it will tell you the port."

i think u have to do this: pres alt+ctrl+supr then u ll see a new window opend so in the window go in the process tab there u ll see modem name or something matching with modem name right click on that and pres end process. now try again and post result

IF you have selected the right port and IF the modem is "closed" (means the modem software is really closed - preferable from task manager), then it must also work..

The modem has two ports, com9 and com10, none of them is working

I have updated the modem to the huawei "free" firmware and nothing

I close the mobile partner before opening the huawei unlocker, or should I close another thing?

Maybe my mistake is on 1. Connect your Huawei data card to your PC (make sure any drivers for the card are installed)

but if any drivers for the card are installed I can't select the ports com9 and com10

Using xp sp3

does it work with vista?

tested two modem not working ,who tested?

try this

connect up your modem and locate your port number and write it down

now disconnect

reboot pc

make sure no modem software is running, right click it if icon is near your windows clock and exit it

now launch the software and selct com port and press unlock repeatedly

keep doing this and then connect your modem dongle

as soon as windows recognises it (audible usb ding) software will continue to unlock it

Not working

When the modem is disconected the com port doesn't appears on the huawei unlocker
when you plug the modem and try to unlock it says "writeFile function failed (win error code: 1167).
after that "working time out end”
