Starting August 2009, DM3 delivers an exclusive new unlocking service:

DM3 for Nokia BB5 (SL3)

The SL3 service unlocks the sim lock restriction of the Nokia BB5 SL3 models. With this addition, again all Nokia BB5 models can be unlocked at DM3.

The service is based on a partnership with Jack D.

The DM3 SL3 unlock method is unique and crafted towards the consumers expectations. The quality is exceptional:

permanent unlock
handset firmware can be upated
no sim card adapter involved (turbo sim)
handset warranty not affected

FAQ for DM3 SL3 unlocking service

1. What are SL3 models?

SL3 is the newest simlock revision of Nokia. It's implemented in all newly manufactured Nokia phones. Among those, all but the lowest end falls into the BB5 SL3 category.

There are two classes of SL3 models in BB5:

Models that have been retro-fitted with SL3. You can recognize them by their unusual firmware version: V58.xx, V59.xx. Examples:
- 5310
- 6500
- 6300
Models that are newly released in 2009. Examples:
- N97
- 5130
- 5630

2. What about models like 5220, 6600, 7310? Can DM3 unlock them too?

Yes. We've been unlocking them since day 1.

3. Can I just send all BB5 phones to DM3, regardless of the model?

Yes. DM3 can unlock all Nokia BB5 phones.

4. What providers are supported? What about UK providers?

All providers "worldwide" are supported, including UK.

5. When is this service available in my DM3 center?

It's available at all DM3 centers.

6. What are the prices?

Please call or email for prices. Our current policy is to not publish prices on internet.

7. Can I upgrade the firmware of my unlocked SL3 phone?

Yes. The unlock will not interfere with the ugrade process, and the phone will still be unlocked afterwards.

8. I've entered 3 wrong codes into my SL3 phone. Can DM3 still unlock it?

We work on that feature, but please do not send such phones before we explicitly confirm it to work.

9. I've tried to unlock an SL3 phone myself and now it's "dead". Can DM3 fix it?

No. To use any DM3 unlocking service, the phone must be working 100%. Please repair it before giving it to us.

10. How do I know if my phone works, before I give it to DM3?

Many potential problems can be spotted with the following test:

insert original simcard, wait for phone to register on the network and make a call
query the IMEI with *#06# and compare it with the sticker below the battery

If your phone doesn't pass this test, paying a DM3 unlock will not make you happier.

11. Who is Jack D.?

Jack D. is our partner for the DM3 SL3 unlocking method.
