instructions how to work with new (db2001-based) SEMC smartphones.

first, basics. there is two PDA security type - NEW and OLD.

Identify button will show security type - it will write "NEW SECURITY detected" with NEW security phones.

if you want to UNLOCK NEW SECURITY phone -

if is better to install PDA phone drivers before operations.
for that you need to download phones.rar from support or from SEMC

turn on phone. in "connections manager->usb" select "normal mode".
now, attach cable. windows will ask you for drivers. point it to corresponding folder of extracted phones.rar.
you must have "semc xxx usb modem" and "semc xxx application port" if drivers correctly installed.
now, turn phone off and detach it. phone mode drivers installation completed.

check "use server" and enter your login/password.
CID49 PDA unlock requires 4 credits.
CID53 PDA unlock requires 7 credits and simlock signature server online. (check article about "permanent unlock")

now, you need install drivers for flashing.
for that, power on smartphone in fw update mode.

- for p990/m600 press and hold "@" on TURNED OFF phone, then attach dcu60.
- for w950 press and hold "C" on TURNED OFF phone, then attach dcu60.

windows will ask you for a drivers. drivers in %setool2 dist%\drivers\HermioneDrivers.
now, when all preparations finished - press unlock button and insert cable to phone,while holding appropriate key on phone.

1. kukuruzer team somewhere got really nice device which can communicate with semc server and authenticate certificate reset loaders.
2. because of that, they using "official factory" way of repairing phones and really can repair ANY phone.
3. as it is not "security hole" solution, we are thinking now, should we release our security hole solution or not.
