Here’s how: 1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit. 2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle. Now to wipe the device clean: 3. Press Alt+L. 4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset. 5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds. The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete. B.R. Subrata |

Please dont provide wrong information to users. This is not the right way to get G1 registered with gmail. The exact settings for GPRS are required to get G1 registered. APN cannot be anything. It has to be from the service provider of the user. Gsm-Lallee | |

The settings go in as following: (after to click on add APN, you need to add the following details) Name:*****(For eg: In case its Vodafone: Vodafone Live! or in case of airtel: airtel Live!) APN: As mentioned on service provider website Proxy: IP address provided by service provider (In some case, this may not exist) Port: Port provided by service provider (In some case, this may not exist) User Name: This is used for authentication, but this authetication is not used. so leave it as <not set> Password: This is used only if authetication used, normal circumstance leave it <not set> Server: As provided by service provider MMSC: This is web server link used for MMS setting, but is not required in this process, so leave it as <not set> MMS Proxy: This is IP link used for MMS setting, but is not required in this process, so leave it as <not set> MCC: This Id is automatically configured by the phone from your Sim network. Do not change this. MNC: This Id is automatically configured by the phone from your Sim network. Do not change this. APN type: This is usually <not set> and in some case se as "default" To check if these setting are correct, go to menu and save these. Once these are saved the phone will try to connect "E" - for edge, etc on the task bar near the time. If the setting are correct it will connect perfectly with in and out flow arrow in taskbar and once you use your gmail id and password it will get registered. Gsm-Lallee |
