I have downloaded the Tool but have not worked on it. I do not much understand the terminologies you have used. Will be grateful if you could guide me step by step.

As the HTC freezes at the HTC logo, how can I retrieve CID. When I connect my HTC with computer with USB after starting the Tool, it says Device not found.

Download HTCDriver_4.16.0.001.exe

put your phone in fastboot,press and hold vol down + power,as phone come in bootloader press power for 1 time,now you should see fastboot on screen

connect phone to pc with micro usb then try read info

Downloaded the HTC driver and installed in on the computer. On fastboot when I connect usd, it shows fatboot usb but where to find the information as the driver does not show any screen or menu. Please guide further and oblige.

Luckily my HTC has started. Have been able to read the info with the help of Tool as follows:
Android ver 2.2.2
Baseband ver 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Serial SH09HPL01563
CID HTC__Y13 (which as per Tool is HTC Nor)
MID PB9920000
Now that my phone has started, can this be upgraded to a new ver of Android and how. Please guide step by step and oblige
