I have a small purple mark on the display. Is it possible to resolve it without replacing the whole LCD and digitizer?

Yes, if you replace the display it will work again.

The best option is to first check the mainboard,maybe there is a broken chip which cause the black screen.

It will no help while there is a spot on the display, you need to repalce it no other way.
