Htc Wildfire s touch screen not working

Hi,

Just an Update.
I replaced the inner lcd screen.

Touch screen is still not working.

Do you have any other ideas?
Maybe heat the motherboard would help?

Hi all - interesting thread, I've got a very similar problem and am just on the edge of giving up and throwing the phone in the trash. So I have absolutely no response from the new screen - I've tried rebooting, goldcards, everything I could find on the net.. I've heard there are 2 different touchscreens, here's an image of the original ribbon next to the new one - is it worth spending another 20€ and getting the exact same screen or should I just give up now and save the effort?? Many thanks in advance for any advise.

yours is reversion: 3

if it is not orignal part, i can tell you, every 3 to 5th touch screen i get is not working or jumping arround...
so it is possible that new touch is also demaged...
i dont know how mutch i already needed to exchange..

(top ribbon is replacement, lower is the original) not sure I understand here.. So is the screen just faulty then or is the version actually incompatible? anyone have experience here?

connect new touch on phone and unlock it with *** clip via gold card, during unlock procedure it will start touch screen calibration and it will ask you to put phone in horizontal position. after that try to update firmware. it works for me.

HTC Wildfire Calibration






Wildfre S Touch Screen Calibration instructions.

WARNING: ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL BE LOST SO PLEASE BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PRIOR TO THIS PROCEDURE

1. Please download the zip file named; "CalibrateWildfire.zip" at the end of this page.
2. Unzip the file into a folder
3. Copy the files into the root of your memory card (Do not place them in a folder)
4. Insert the memory card into your phone
5. Switch off the phone
6. With the phone switched off keep hold of the 'VOLUME DOWN' button and press the 'POWER' button once
7. Wait 10 seconds until screens displays "Get OEMSBL time out! ........... Press VOLDN to exit".
8. PRESS Volume Down button once
9. The screen will diplay "Vol-Dn=> DIAG" in red writing
10. PRESS Volume Down button once
11. At this point the digitizer will be calibrated. Let the process complete.
12. Once complete a screen will appear with the heading in blue "MAL SERVICE HDIAG 1.00"
13. You can now remove the battery and switch on the phone as normal and it should work fine.

NOTE:
- ALL PERSONAL DATA FROM PHONE MEMORY WILL BE ERASED.
- If the process is not working then the files have not been copied or the steps have not been followed correctly.
- This calibration software is ONLY for the HTC Wildfire phone and will not work on anything else.
