Depends on your experience. htc phones needs experience more than the boxes because with the box and no experience nothing you can do. many tools are out there for many brains so research and choose based on your ability but the most thing you should get is a jtag to revert your mistakes.

setool (lgetool ) can only unlock htc phones for imei repair u need a jtag device like ort , riff , medusa , etc ...

I think as far as your problem is concern ,,,, micro box will be best and if u r looking in cheaper one then HX pro dongle along with pro cable can fulfill your requirement ,,,, surely ,,, for furthur detail must look its support in the same page at down...

i have a riff box and the htx dongel with red and green cabel
bud with riff its a problme phone shot down auto randomly

with red cabel its the problme you must downgrade whats not so eays for me
i no make any time this

Bro I asked too. Here are the One's: RIFF, Medusa, Octopus (Samsung+LG), and HXC. Best tools you can have for IMEI Repair, Dead Phones.

I haven't to experience perhaps , but I never esitated to share ..

usually I use Ort Jtag to unlock my Htc , it cost me just my time ( can use for imei ) .
or some time I use Online server if customer gave much money and he is a hurry ..-
but it's seem micro box also not bad ( I haven't it yet )
you have also AXE box ( I haven't yet )
MAnole Clip ( I haven't )
Raskal clip ( I haven't )
HXC dongle ( I havent )

all of these stuff are good just need good experience to work ...
