I really second this, IM+ looks great! VeriChat is the "norm", but its pretty unstable!

Ok I tested out Universe 3.0.3 on the treo 700p. It hasnt made my phone reset (yet). I tried opening the app, closing the app, using volume buttons on side (i tested these because some apps will crash when you do that! I learned the hard way), tried different menu options (not all of them) and everything seems to be working fine. The only issues so far that i've seen were when you try to open certain websites, the browser just tries to connect and it goes through this redirecting, receiveing, redirecting, etc... cycle and it eventually reaches its redirect max limit and stops there. Dosnt happen with all sites but some of them. And some of them it just wont connect to the site.

Anyway, the browser is nice. I really like it. Cant wait for the final release! Just thought I'd share my experience with yall if anyone wanted to know how it worked with the 700p.

It doesn't yet support SSL, so that's why you're getting that "maximum redirect" message. Also it's quite slow because the GIF decoder is emulated 68k code; that's why the touchscreen is largely nonresponsive while the sites are loading. Once he's able to code a native GIF decoder, it will speed up the browser tremendously.

Now if this gets plastered all across the web, I'll risk losing my beta test position and I won't be able to give you any more new builds, so do everyone a favor and keep this file to yourselves
haha! thanks a bunch! don't worry... i never saw it...

Neither did I...

btw, is there any way to use it without the stylus? Like in blazer you can use up and down to select links and right and left to scroll up and down (or is it the other way around). I can't seem to select links or inputs without the stylus.

I've run into the redirect thing as well. It will be nice when that is fixed.

The other weird thing I've seen is that text input boxes let me enter multiple lines of text. I thought that was pretty funny.

Follow the keygen instructions and all is well. I just tried it on a treo 650, shows as registered when I select the Register menu option. Remember that there are some hardware-specific features in the license, so you have to run the keygen on the actual PDA that you want to register.

When registering, I used the same made-up 5-digit registration code as when I ran the keygen, not sure if they actually have to be the same or not.

Here's what I did:

- Installed MRing 3.3.3
- Installed LMReg.patched (note, it's older than the one it replaces)
- [I was testing on a PDA that had never been hotsynced, so in MUH, I assigned the same name to LMReg, mLicense, mRing. You shouldn't need to do this step if you already have a hotsync ID]
- Ran mLicense, entered 12345
- Don't connect to internet, reg. manually
- Wrote down 16 8-digit codes (ignore any garbage after the 1st 8 hexidecimal characters)
- Installed original LMReg.prc
- entered 12345
- Don't connect to internet, reg. manually
- Entered code #6 of the 16...it works!

the patched file lmreg is in the old version here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/3616313/...patch.zip.html

the new version is here (install first):

http://rapidshare.com/files/3613832/mRing650.zip.html

follow directions and it'll work.

u dont need that program on the 700p , u can already assign individual ringers for specific contacts...

well thats not really what I need it for. I have certain calls that I want to send directly to voicemail or silence. I've already assigned different rings for people. this is all I really want mring for. if there's any other app out there that can do the same thing i will give it a try. I tried callfilter but that didnt work on my model either. thanks

call filter didnt work..hmm was going to suggest that, u might want to try lightwav, also in this forum

i can send u a silent ringer, lol

then u can assign that to callers that u want to go to v/m

i actually think the 700p comes with a silent ringer for default, check it out

the attachment is a ringer which states unidentified voice call, good for private callers
