AFAIK demo maps does not have turn-by-turn voice directions...i think u have to pay for those.??? and the sf mapopolis.prc is free!! it's the maps that are demo?? correct me if wrong...i found the old ver 5 maps (i think newer ones r 6) and used the .prc from above site, but it was not AT ALL stable ...

Actually, I can positively confirm that the demo maps for Palm OS 5 do have turn-by-turn voice directions (thats what I use on my Zire 72). You need to download the full Navigator 2.35 for Palm OS 5 package from the Mapopolis site (it is FREE, like you said).

http://www.mapopolis.com/nav.zip

In the package is a Pspeak.prc, Pspeak.pdb, which give voice directions. This application gives voice directions with street name, or you can use the MapopolisWords.pdb with the Mapopolis.prc, wich only gives turn directions, without the street names. Like you said the actual Mapopolis app is free, and according to the Mapopolis website,

"Mapopolis Demo maps are fully-functional Navigator maps which expire after nine days.
(Demo Maps for Palm OS 3/4 are
Platinum maps.)"

It would be great if someone could hack Mapopolis to get rid of the 9 day limitation (I can overcome this by reseting the counter, ie deleting the file Xatl, that Mapopolis uses to keep track of the Demo maps), but more importantly, get rid of the NAG screens of the DEMO maps, because then all the Maps would be FREE. Can anyone help?

I guess we need the munich.bin file patched as in the old V5 version, right?

I installed the V6 with maps. App seem to start but it needs activation.
