upgrading from a Palm TX - GSM-Forum

I currently have Palm TX. i got it a few years ago. i currently tweaked it as best i can including UDMH, core player, Power SDHC, etc.

I love my palm tx ,but as much as i like it, its not easy when i travel. since the palm tx only has a 802.11b wifi, it isnt easy to connect to a starbucks or a hotel- since most use g/n wifi.and no matter how i tweak it. i could change its hardware.

I am looking to somehow get something similar to ( at least with abilities)the palm tx.
the browser uses opera but sometimes its resets when i use it., universe browser too. i dont have a smartphone and i dont have unlimited internet on the phone, so im looking for something similar to a palm tx but with newer, more compatible wifi.

I know the ipod touch has lots of apps but i refuse to but one for a number of reasons( one is because its lack of 3rd party support).i heard the ipod touch has a great browser so im looking for something with a good browser but not an apple product

Does anyone have any recommendations for me of a NON- cell phone/non apple PDA?

This is what im looking for in a new PDA:

cpu as fast as or faster than palm tx
stable OS
web browser with full html
SD or microSD card( i prefer SHDC cards 4/8 or larger)
Wifi that is 802.11g and/or n)
has lots of games
has lots of apps( including office apps)
can view pictures,
can play videos
can play music
can view swf/flv flash files
has something similar to pocket tunes( internet radio)
not apple
under $250

basically, i want a palm tx that can connect to G or N routers.but doesnt have to have the palm os.

is there such a thing out there?a ny help would be appreciated.

You are not alone! If only something like an upgraded TX did exist.

Now that HP has taken over palm theres supposed to be 7 new units coming out. Maybe youll get lucky and they will release a non cell phone pda unit.

if you shell out six bucks you mighy still find on the palm websit tx security upgade. it gives you wsa personal and corporate wifi secutity. i needed it when we upgraded our security here at home. Good Luck. John
