| BB 9800 Hardware repair help Hi, I have a BB 9800 which had water damage a few months ago, I have stripped the phone and cleaned some damage with isopropyl alc but im wanting to remove the metal plates covering some of the components to check for damage. All other phones I have worked on simply clip off/on but these seem to be soldered. I have an infrared rework station which I am going to use to remove them but can anyone tell me a safe/correct temprature to use for this particular job please? I have attached an image of the plates im trying to remove so you know what im on about - there are also some on the other side but i dont think a second image is necessary. Thanks |

| Heat these metal plates to 330C, 2-4 mins, use good quality flux and try to lift with sharp blade. Remove one at a time let the m'board cool down in between. |
