Member: 918485 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | I have a theory that may be worth experimenting, especially for us Storm owners. Seeing as the MEP unlock code seems to be dependant on the IMEI number of the handset, i was wondering if anyone has at all noticed whether or not their MEP code changes when they change their IMEI number on their handset? If in fact the MEP code does change when you alter the IMEI number, would it be reasonable to think that, should we change our IMEI on our phone to one that has already received an unlock code, would that same unlock code be usable on our phone now that the IMEI numbers match? Basically what im thinking is: 1 - Find a handset IMEI with a matching unlocking code 2 - Use radio tool to change your phone IMEI to the one that has a generated unlock code 3 - Use the unlock code to unlock the phone 4 - Change the IMEI number back to the original number In theory this should unlock the phone right? Unless of course the MEP unlock code depends on more factors than just the IMEI number. Maybe someone can give this a shot and report back? |
