Blackberry 8900 Keyboard not working

I swopped the Circuit board on to another mid plate thinking it might be keyboard damage but the fault is still the same, even the enter key and key you use to access the other apps and options menus do not work so it is obviously a fault on the circuit board, can anyone help please with a answer.

It does have the latest software installed.

Keyboard

Original poster said he swapped the UIF board (center plate) to a known working one and still didn't work. That means motherboard problem. You need to find schematic of motherboard. Or carefully check connector on motherboard.

Found the underside view of the motherboard which doesn't seem to show ic or other circuitry that controls keyboard input.

Not found the topside view yet.

If you very GENTLY and slowly peel back the white membrame in the picture from #5 then give it a good rub with cotton buds and alcohol, let it dry and put it back and your buttons should work.

What it does is cleans the corrosion that builds up under the membrame.

Just cleaned 2 BB's that had that problem, good luck
