9900 waste of time..

Absolutley no one in this forum can help you.

It's a waste of time.. Dont listen to anyone here.

EFS has to be deleted and repaired.. RTSA....

You may fix very small percentage with reflashing..

other than that 9900 is a GARBAGE phone from RIM...

No free solutions for this.. Many SW here have Trojans..

I have come across about 50 of these. I try everything listed with nuke, etc... never worked, I always sold them as junk. The best I was ever able to do was get to come on with battery charging icon.

About a month ago I had one, I took in the palm of my hand and banged it into the table. HARD. Put in battery and it came on.

I had another one last week, same problem. hit it on the table and it came on too.

These phones are still working. For how long I don't know. This is a VERY VERY common problem with 9900/9930. 9900 now sells for approx $180 on USA market. With red light problem it sells for maybe $40 so who cares. Hit it on the table. HARD. Loud BANG. I am repairing 100 Blackberry a week for 8 years and I know how to nuke/reload software and this never fixes 9900/9930 red light problem.

I have seen this problem on about 100 phones and never fixed using software. For years I just assumed phone was trash. Tried every software method, never worked. Blink blink. Plug in charger and lightning bolt comes on but reload software and hangs on connecting to jvm or use rapido and same thing.

Solution that works??? (use at your own risk......this is suicide solution)

Put phone in your hand and slam on the table. Hard. 85% force of where you will break for hand or the table.

I tried this with 2 units and 2 units came to life. I sold these phones and customer never came back, no news is good news so maybe OK?

Not sure why this works. Same solution used to work for Blackberry 7290. But on 7290 problem would come back soon.

This problem on 9900 is because of manufacturing defect, chips weren't properly soldered so maybe this reconnects them temporarily. Suicide solution, only good before throwing away phone.
