Blackberry Torch 9800 - trackpad

Hello,

I have two torches with two independent problems related to the slider which have me baffled. I am not as familiar with this device so I don't know where to start troubleshooting.

1st Torch 9800 - I changed the front digitizer on it. Now the proximity sensor doesn't seem to work and the onscreen keyboard can't be triggered at all. It's all but disappeared.

2nd Torch 9800 - The trackpad works fine until you slide the screen up. Once you slide the screen up the trackpad stops working??? Very confused?

Anybody have any experience with these issues? I have tried a full restore and nothing...

Thank you in advance

Well, I solved the track pad issue (somewhat).

I did various different tests to isolate the problem. When you replace the backplate on the slider that contains the ribbon it fixes the problem.

I only wish I new which component on the backplate was damaged, it would be nice to repair it as opposed to just changing the part. You have to think of the environment. :-)
